Puerto Rico - Day 2

We got up bright and early to go and zip line through The El Yunque Rainforest! It was an exotic way to start our trip and gave us lots of time to chat between our rides.

It was then raining off and off, and Megan's plan was to take us on a hike to an overlook within El Yunque Forest. She had described this tower that had amazing views of the jungle! We all agreed that we didn't mind if it was raining and continued up into the hills to begin our soggy (and sometimes slippery) hike!

Little did I know why Max was charging ahead, leading our group at an impressive speed...

Shocked would be an understatement. And no words can describe my happiness in that moment when Max asked me to marry him. It was truly one of my best days of my life. Megan and Rachel, not only trudging through the hike with this enormous secret of an engagement, but bag laden with champagne and solo cups -- it meant the world to have them there to celebrate us and make our special moment perfect.

I am in complete disbelief that I didn't see it coming. Needless to say the hike didn't provide the view I expected, but I hiked up a girlfriend and back down a fiancé :) A huge thank you to Megan and Rachel, you'll always be a special part of our story 💓 We had the best dinner down near the beach and explored some of what is iconic to Luquillo -- kioskos. Basically a strip of humble, locally owned shops that sell anything from drinks, to street food, to sit-down restaurants and souvenir shops! We tried a little of everything that we could manage-- full heart and full bellies on our second night in the beautiful Puerto Rico.
